the deal, in writing.
The student network is free for students right now. These are the rules that go with it — what we do, what we ask of you, and what we are not promising.
the short version.
- LINK is free right now for students. If we ever charge for something, we will tell you before we do.
- Be honest in your profile. It is the only thing a venture sees before meeting you.
- LINK makes introductions, not guarantees. We cannot promise a placement.
- What happens after an introduction is between you and the venture.
- You can leave whenever you want. Email us and the account is gone.
agreeing to this.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and LINK Student Network LLC ("LINK", "we", "us") covering linkstudentnetwork.com and the student network on it (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
These Terms take effect October 7, 2026.
what LINK is
LINK connects high school and college students to real work — nonprofits, student organizations, startups, creators, and local businesses that need help and are willing to let a student do it. You build a profile, browse ventures, and raise your hand for the ones you want. A person at LINK reads every raised hand and makes introductions where there is a fit.
LINK is an introduction service. We are not an employer, a staffing agency, or a party to whatever you and a venture agree to afterward.
who can use it
The Service is built for students. You may create an account if you are 13 or older. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian who is comfortable with you having an account and with LINK sharing your profile with a venture when you raise your hand.
One account per person. Accounts are personal — do not share your sign-in or let someone else use your account.
your account
You sign in with Google, so there is no LINK password to manage. Keep your Google account secure; anyone who can get into it can get into your LINK account. Tell us if you think someone has used your account without permission.
You can edit or clear any part of your profile at any time, and you can ask us to delete the account entirely by emailing linkstudentnetwork@gmail.com.
what we ask of you
- Be accurate. Your school, graduation year, skills, and bio should be true. A venture decides whether to meet you based on them.
- Be yourself. Do not impersonate another person, school, or organization.
- Follow through. If you raise your hand and get introduced, show up. If you change your mind, withdraw the interest instead of going quiet.
- Be decent. No harassment, hate, threats, or spam — to LINK staff, to a venture, or to anyone you meet through the Service.
- Do not break it. No scraping, no attempts to reach other people's data, no probing the Service for vulnerabilities, no automated signups.
- Do not use it to sell. The network is not a lead list. Do not use an introduction to pitch unrelated products.
ventures and listings
If you list a venture, you confirm you are authorized to represent it and that what you post about it is accurate. LINK reviews listings and nothing is visible to students until we publish it. We may decline, edit, or remove a listing for any reason.
When a student is introduced to you, you agree to use their information only to consider and work with them — not to add them to a mailing list, resell their details, or contact them about anything else.
what we do not promise
We want to be straight with you about this. LINK does not guarantee:
- that you will be matched with any venture, or matched at all
- that a venture will respond, interview you, or follow through
- that a role will be paid, academically credited, or last any length of time
- that the Service will be available without interruption
We do not screen, background-check, or vet the people behind every venture beyond a reasonable review of the listing, and we do not vet students beyond reading their profile. Use your own judgment. Meet in public or on video first, do not send money to anyone, and tell us at linkstudentnetwork@gmail.com if something feels wrong. We will act on it.
paid LINK services
The student network is free to students right now. We may introduce paid features later; if we do, we will say what they cost before you are asked to pay for anything, and we will not start charging you mid-match. LINK also separately offers paid services to businesses and organizations — creative and strategy work through LINK Studio, and programs through LINK Elevate. Those engagements are governed by whatever we sign with that client, not by these Terms.
your content
What you write in your profile stays yours. By putting it on LINK, you give us permission to store it, show it back to you, and share it with a venture when you raise your hand for that venture — nothing more. That permission ends when you delete the content or the account.
The LINK name, logo, site design, and copy belong to LINK. Please do not copy the site or use the branding to suggest LINK endorses something it does not.
ending it
You can stop using LINK at any time, and we will delete your account and data on request. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, misrepresents who it belongs to, or puts other members at risk. Where it is reasonable to, we will tell you why.
the legal part
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent the law allows, LINK is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost opportunities, arising out of your use of the Service or out of any relationship you form through it. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100), or what you have paid us in the past twelve months, whichever is greater.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes belong to the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you and LINK both consent to that. Before filing anything, please email us — almost everything is faster to fix that way.
changes to these terms
If we change these Terms, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If a change meaningfully affects your rights, we will tell account holders by email rather than quietly editing the page. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
